RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

There are job opportunities for graduate students and undergraduates to become involved with both the lab work and field work.

Undergraduates can participate in local research and lab research during the school year.

Summer field positions for undergraduates available for summer 2009. Graduate assistantships also available for work in Alaska, Florida, and the tropics.

RESEARCH FACILITIES
The laboratory features isotope preparation facilities for the analysis of natural abundance levels of stable (13C) and radioactive (14C) isotopes of carbon, as well as nitrogen (15N) and oxygen (18O).

Stable isotope measurements are made on a Finnigan XL Delta Plus mass spectrometer in a shared isotope facility at UFL with Soil and Water Science, and Geology.

Radiocarbon measurements are made at the Keck Carbon Cycle Accelerator Mass Spectrometer facility at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in collaboration with Dr. Susan Trumbore.
